2024 will be a colorful year!

Dürener Stadtmomente 2024″ is the motto of the new art calendar of the city of Düren. The calendar is 100% produced in Düren: The twelve motifs and the cover were designed by Düren artist Julian Gairola, and the calendar was printed in a Düren print shop on paper from a Düren paper mill 😉

In the city’s press release, all those involved are delighted with the result:

“The calendar shows our city events in a completely different, modern design for once. And it is these colorful moments that stand out from our everyday lives, that create memories, that bring a smile to our faces,” said Mayor Frank Peter Ullrich at the presentation of the art calendar, which the city publishes with the support of Sparkasse Düren.

The bank’s CEO, Uwe Willner, added: “These are really great motifs in great colors, with which every Dürener can certainly associate their own stories and memories. The calendar will definitely find a prominent place on the wall in my office.”

The calendar’s motifs, which are reminiscent of comic or pop art in their design, range from the town hall to the market square, carnival, the town festival, the bathing lake, Willy Brandt Park, Burgau Castle and the Christmas market. “I deliberately chose very emotional moments for the motifs. The diversity of Düren inspires me as a designer both professionally and privately,” explained Julian Gairola.

The calendar will be distributed as a gift at the City of Düren’s New Year receptions, among other events. The calendar can also be purchased at iPUNKT am Markt and in the museum store at the Leopold Hoesch Museum
