100% Made in Düren

Art calendar focuses on motifs corresponding to the River Rur

Düren. “Düren – City on the Rur” is the motto of this year’s art calendar of the city of Düren. The calendar was 100 percent Made in Düren: The twelve watercolour paintings and the cover page were created by the Düren artist Rolf Lock, and the calendar was printed in Düren on Reflex paper.

“Not every city has got these opportunities,” said Mayor Frank Peter Ullrich while presenting the art calendar, which the city publishes with the support of Sparkasse Düren. “And I am very happy about the theme this year. The Rur has been closely linked to life and people in our city for centuries. But Düren is not only located on a river, there are also many things in flux here. ”

The motifs of the calendar range from the water wheel at the Pleußmühle and the paper museum to the kingfisher and the duck race to the Rur bath and the old city nursery, which is located directly on the Rur. “Rolf Lock played very nicely with the themes of the respective months when choosing the motifs,” the mayor continued.
And the Chairman of the Board of Sparkasse Düren, Uwe Willner, added: “A really great work has been created here. Every person in Düren will certainly associate many stories with the motifs. This is a great achievement by all those who have worked on the creation. And of course we are very happy to support that.”

Among other things, the art calendar will be distributed as a gift at the New Year’s receptions of the city of Düren. It is also available for 17.50 euros per calendar during normal opening hours at iPUNKT am Markt.
